Merrylee Primary School has an active Parent Council which is always happy to welcome new members. Its primary focus is to enable a platform for communication between parents and carers and the school so that both can work in partnership.
Our Parent Council provides the opportunity for parents and carers to contribute to school life and the well-being of our children, as well as increasing their understanding of school matters. Meetings are held a least 4 times a year, with items on the agenda varying from Head Teacher feedback on learning within the school, promoting a healthy eating policy and making our school community cleaner and safer, to school improvement plans and developing the school environment. If you would like to become involved or have any issues that you feel should be raised at our next meeting, please refer to our contact page.
The Parent Council's Parents Association (PA) is its fundraising body which organises a wide variety of events throughout the year, ranging from Book Fairs and Disco's to Ceilidhs and Pamper Nights. The funds raised enable the school to provide additional activities and resources, all of which support and enhance our children's learning experience. If you would like to join the Parents Association or volunteer at one of our events, please refer to the PA page.
